One of my long-time collectors asked me to paint a raven. Since I took several Native American art history classes in Uni, I was happy to oblige. It was really fun to push the purples and blues to make a black bird. Ravens have really neat feathers - they have spiky hairy ones on their beaks, and very pointy ones on their chests. This painting depicts the Haida myth of how Raven stole the sun and brought light to the world.
