New ACEO - Love is Magical!

Hello everyone! Hope everyone had a great Christmas. We had a wonderful time, and I really slacked off and relaxed. I got some great gifts - including a whole bunch of new books. I also got some new paints - colors I wouldn't normally buy because they're more expensive. So here's something I did to try out the new shades. Since Valentine's day is coming up, I wanted to do something pretty and romantic! Click here to bid!

New ACEO - romance in the snow!

LOL, she's supposed to be trying to look anonymous as she sneaks home early in the morning. I'm really happy with this one - there are some really subtle effects I managed to pull of exactly how I wanted. The snowy background turned out lovely, and the snowflake on her kimono are exactly the right translucency. Click here to bid and thanks for looking!

New ACEO - Romeo and Juliet

I finished this yesterday, but didn't have time to post links! So here you go. I'll probably have another card ready this afternoon - something Japanese. Thanks for looking!

New ACEO - kumihimo

Here's something that I tried a long time ago, but wasn't very good at. Of course at the time I didn't bother to get the proper equipment and that really makes the difference. I'm of a mind to try again. The stand itself can be bought online (even on ebay) but can be expensive - so I'd make my own. It's really only two pieces of wood attached together with dowels.

New ACEO - mooncakes!

Here's a Chinese version of the Japanese "Tsukimi" I painted recently. The tradition originally came to Japan from China. Every year our local grocery store sells huge boxes of these mooncakes, and I've always wanted to try them so bad. But they're very expensive and I never want to shell out the cash for something I just want to try - $20 is a lot to pay for a box of beanpaste buns that only I will eat and probably not finish!
