This little kitty's making a temari, a kind of thread embroidered ball. "Te" means hand, and "Mari" means ball. In times long past these were actually used as a plaything, but nowadays they are more considered an artwork. I've made several and they're not too hard to make if you can embroider - if you do a google search you should find lots of links and there are lots of instruction books on Amazon. I have a picture of one of my own on my computer somewhere but I can't find it right now - and it's packed away as a Christmas ornament. Anyway,
